Baptism of Jesus by John the Baptist

The Supreme Court on June 24th ruled that abortion may now be regulated by the states.  June 24 is the Feast Day of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Feast Day of John the Baptist.  The Sacred Heart of Jesus is celebrated on the second Friday following Pentecost, which is June 24th this year.  June is the Month of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

The Feast Day of John the Baptist is celebrated on June 24.  John the Baptist was the cousin of Jesus.  He actually baptized Jesus and is remembered for his statement,

“I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord”

His message was a call to repentance and forgiveness of sins.  He baptized thousands of people.

In God’s plan, there are no accidents.  We should reflect on the meaning of this important day which will also be remembered as the day the Supreme Court of the U.S. returned to the states the control over abortion laws.

The ruling which made it a “right” to have an abortion has influenced the country in many ways.  There will now be a major shift and discussion in how each state will regulate the abortion industry.

Hopefully, one of the responses will be to increase the outreach to mothers facing pregnancy under duress.  To defend the unborn, is not a judgmental act.  All of us are sinners in need of change.  We must make options easily available for mothers in need of help.  Kindness is very important.  Every child needs to feel loved and wanted.  Every mother also needs to feel loved and cared for.  This event is a call to action in our country.

Life is precious.  All persons need respect and love.  We all need to here the call

Prepare ye the way, prepare ye the way of the Lord.

It is time to reflect on our lives and change what needs to be changed.  Please join me in praying for peace and healing for all affected by abortion.

And I saw a river over which every soul must pass to reach the Kingdom of Heaven, and the name of that river was suffering.and then I saw a boat which carried souls across the river, and the name of that boat was Love.
